FILING OF INTERPOL CASES

The International Police Organization more commonly known as INTERPOL is an intergovernmental organization facilitating international police cooperation. It was established as the International Criminal Police Commission (ICPC) in 1923; it chose INTERPOL as its telegraphic address in 1946, and made it its common name in 1956.
Interpol has 190 member countries, an (increasing) budget of almost €115 million, most of which is provided through annual contributions by its membership of 190 countries (as of 2017). In 2013, the Interpol General Secretariat employed a staff of 756, representing 100 member countries. Its current Secretary-General is Jürgen Stock, the former deputy head of Germany’s Federal Criminal Police Office. He replaced Ronald Noble, a former United States under Secretary of the Treasury for Enforcement, who stepped down in November 2014 after serving 14 years. Interpol’s current President is Meng Hongwei, Deputy Minister of Public Security of China.
INTERPOL has a sophisticated information sharing network and thousands of Red Notices are issued each year – an awareness of the impact of a Red Notice and an understanding of international terms while dealing with frauds and fugitives in the corresponding domestic setting.
Interpol Notices can lead to loss of employment and visa status, resulting in restricted travel and business activities across the globe even though the notice has been submitted against Interpol’s own rules.
The question of unfunded cheques is harmful for good business in any country and Interpol Red Notice are very useful in tracking a fraudster and willful defaulter and bringing him to justice.
Many countries treat Interpol Notices as provisional arrest warrants and automatically detain suspects pending judicial process. Victims of Interpol abuse may have the ability to claim against authorities for wrongful detention.
